chinese new year
The Chinese New Year fell on February 21st this year (2010) and as I am in London at the moment I could not pass up potential photo opportunities despite the freezing temperatures.
Now grab your hot beverage of choice, sit back and hopefully enjoy some of the photos I have taken yesterday. The whole set can be viewed on Flickr here.
Despite the cold (or maybe to keep each other warm) it was packed on Trafalgar Square.
Chinatown must have been a great place to lose your kid as people were squeezed tightly trying to go either way.
The ones that didn’t get lost were awarded sweets n toys.

new years 2010
Going through my pictures from New Years Eve I discovered a few anomalies. Seems like two aliens decided to land on my street. Seemed to be a couple by the looks of it. See how the right one gets the left one running after yelling at it? Don’t believe me? Have a look for yourself:

one or the other
Stumbled upon this while walking through Granville Island in Vancouver. The duality of looking like torture while being fun entertainment for the viewers caught my attention and I had to take a few shots. The guy eventually got out of the chains.

vancouver art gallery
The Vancouver Art Gallery usually has at least one interesting exhibit displayed at all times, but this external application of art onto the steps of the VAG (as the art gallery is known in Vancouver) in form of a projection took my breath away.
Outside displays of art accompany many of the exhibitions displayed at the VAG.
Right next to the art gallery is the Olympic Clock counting down to the start of the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver.
Looking especially flashy at night.

snowy vancouver
Okay here is the first batch of my photos.
I took those when I lived in Vancouver around xmas 2008. Usually it doesn’t snow in the city of Vancouver – or at least that’s what I was told by lots of residents – when one night I looked out the window and voila, there was the most beautiful and deep serene white blanket I had seen in years.

disclaimer of sorts
I will start uploading some of my photos the next few days and just want to clarify beforehand that I am by no means a professional photographer. I just started semi-seriously about a year and a half ago and discovered my love for photography.
This blog works as a venue for my attempt at photography and I am more than grateful for feedback and constructive criticism. Now let me get back to uploading to my Flickr account. Photos should be posted by tomorrow the latest.
